padlet
padlet is an online bulletin board that allows students to collaborate and share information at the same time. It is a simple tool to use, that only requires the teacher to register for an account to create the 'padlet'. Students are able to contribute to the post without signing up for account and there is also the opportunity for students to provide their responses anonymously if the teacher allows it.
An example of how to use padlet in the classroom can be seen below, in this example the students were required to write a response to using blogs in the classroom. As seen this example allows the students to provide their answers anonymously, this allows the students to give their response without fear of being called upon for giving an incorrect answer. Using anonymous answering does come with some negatives however as some students may provide inappropriate answers. Also this example padlet was used following a class on the use of blogs, therefore students could utilise their knowledge gained from the class. This is one way it could be used, alternatively it could be used prior to the learning of the topic to gauge student understanding and prior knowledge.

padlet can be a fantastic tool for the classroom if it is used correctly. Teachers need to be aware that some students can use it to provide inappropriate answers, so students may need to provide their name with answers.
padlet would fit into the redefinition category as it allows all students to provide answers simultaneously and all responses can be seen automatically. Depending on the question used on the padlet it would fit into either the comprehension or knowledge section of Bloom's taxonomy, as students are required to use their knowledge on demonstrate understanding.
